Outline

Through practical experience and discussion, students will learn about cave paintings from the pre-historic era, as well as those within the Caves themselves. Students will also discuss the difference between art and graffiti, identifying some well-known graffiti artists and exploring their work. They will explore the Caves and its artwork, looking at some of its historical graffiti, and then use a range of techniques to create their own paintings or art piece.

• To understand how and why early settlers decorated their caves with artwork

• To discuss the difference between art and graffiti

• To use a range of techniques to design and create their very own piece of art
