Margate Caves celebrates 160 years of being open to the public

In celebration of opening it was free for children to visit throughout the opening weekend back in 1863 - so we're doing the same! Free entry for children when accompanied by a paying adult, on 1st and 2nd April. Visitors can enjoy our Easter Holiday trail through the Caves, which will focus on the Caves quirky history. Our lovely volunteer guides still tell the occasional tall tale too!

Through the rest of the school holidays, we have award-winning artist Dawn Cole joining us for free celebratory Chalk Up! workshops on Tuesdays 4th and 11th April, 11am to 2pm (more information below). And our Messy Mondays 11am to 4pm on 3rd and 10th April will see our Community Rooms exploding with a whole range of crafts for just £1 per child.

Then our Community Rooms will transform for our second Vintage Fashion Fair on Saturday 15th April, 10am to 5pm. Shop an array of fabulous vintage, with treasures all the way from the 1930s through to Y2K.

Chalk Up! Continues in celebration of the Caves’ 160th birthday! Tuesday 4th and Tuesday 11th April, 11am to 2pm.

To mark our birthday we’re continuing to chalk up our achievements, celebrating achievements big and small - from the 160 years of Cave history to those personal mini-wins that get you through the day.

There’ll be templates available from the Caves to create your very own Chalk Up poster to display in your window, or on your fridge - and share your achievement on #chalkupmargate.

Submissions will be shared through the Margate Caves accounts too - look out for your very own Chalk Up shout out!

Every day we’ll be chalking up what makes you proud on our chalkboard at the Caves, as well as hosting workshops on Tuesday 4th and Tuesday 11th with award-winning printmaker and owner of The Edwards Press, Dawn Cole

Plus, in the Caves there will be a Chalk Up! trail celebrating the history of the Caves.

So join us in celebrating everyone’s triumphs, bigging up the little wins and chalking up what makes you proud.

The way this event turns historical preservation into an active community experience is understated yet effective. It really makes the UK history feel alive rather than just a museum piece. spin shark casino

This development is understated yet effective. Instead of being a passive observer, it becomes an active participant. moto x3m

This sounds like such a warm and lively celebration of history and community. I love how the caves mix storytelling, art, and family activities together. Events like this remind me of relaxing moments playing basketball legends , a fun game that also brings people together in its own way. The Chalk Up idea feels especially meaningful and personal.

Reference article from fetch rewards reviews I started using Rewards, and my experience has been quite positive. The app is user-friendly, making it easy to scan receipts and earn points quickly. I appreciate the variety of gift card options available, which cater to different preferences and needs. The cashback feature is also a nice touch, providing additional savings on purchases. Overall, Fetch Rewards has proven to be a reliable way to earn rewards effortlessly, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to maximize their shopping experience.
