On site, progress continues apace. Our teams from High Peak Geotechnical and Graham Daws Associates are on site working their way through a lengthy To Do List, which includes scaling loose chalk from roof and walls of the Caves, rock bolting and meshing any potentially unstable features, hand-digging a tunnel to provide a second exit, plus upgrading the rather tired handrails and worn-away steps. Up at ground level the screed has just gone down, so we have a floor. Woo!

Niche historical tourist attractions are doing a brilliant job lately of expanding their facilities to bring in fresh local talent. I was reading a community development update about the Margate Caves latest build and job vacancy announcements for their new visitor center. It’s fantastic to see heritage sites create real-world opportunities, which is a nice break from the digital grind where we just stare at screens hoping to spin the wheel mm2 for rare drops.
